CLEAN WATER &
All our schools have well maintained clean water systems for drinking and cooking. The non-potable water is piped to toilets and used for watering trees.
Previously there were no toilets at any of our schools. Now toilets and running water are there for all children to use. Also, mosquito and snake control is administered as needed.
Starting in 2008, eligible seniors were given sponsorships to attend Intermediate and Polytechnique Programs and University. Now we have students in college work study programs and also attending four year universities. And finally, we have university graduates working in local Software companies.
MURATHI ORPHANAGE FOR GIRLS
We support the Maruthi Orphanage for Girls. (They attend our school, called Maktha. Currently 65 girls reside in the facility and we are in progress to build a bigger and better residence for them.
All of our schools have well stocked libraries with a resident librarian which students visit daily. For most it is the first time they are able to hold and read a "real book." Books are selected from the national curriculum.
Navionics Foundation maintains a strong relationship with the Rotary Cub of South Yarmouth, USA, and the Rotary Club of Greater Hyderabad, India. International grants and ongoing support for the Maktha School has greatly enhanced programs and the school environment.
Teacher student ratios, desk/chairs, ventilation and school supplies are augmented as needed and as we are able. Student strength continues to increase at a rapid pace, so we are in constant state of construction and embellishment.
